Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Cash Application Lead/Accountant Senior Essential Responsibilities: 1) Responsible for matching deposits with open accounts receivable. 2) Enter and post daily cash receipts. 3) Research and resolve unidentified payments for posting. 4) Assist team members with cash application issues. 5) Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to resolve outstanding payments. 6) Research and resolve customer deductions. 7) Set up and maintain customer accounts within the existing financial software. 8) Apply learned knowledge of practices and procedures to deal with issues or problems that require further definition before resolution. 9) Interface, as needed, with government, corporate and private auditors 10) Monitor posting and maintenance of financial books and records and assure all supporting documents are adequate and properly filed. Performs continuous audits of financial accounts to maintain account integrity. 11) Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures. 12) Provide training and support to accounting team members on an as needed basis. Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested. Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline and at least 5 years of job-related experience or equivalent. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and integrated software applications; analytical & research skills. Organizational skills and the ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Must be a US Citizen. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Typical office and non-office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
