Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Operations Manager Amentum is seeking an Operations Manager to join our team in Pontiac, IL! Typical work schedule is 40 hours, 6am – 3pm.; hours may vary based on business demand. Weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring efficient utilization and accountability for space and facilities based on needs, space limitations, and cost considerations. Facility services relate to new construction, remodeling, building maintenance, and rearrangement, including assuring compliance with all applicable codes, rules, regulations, laws, and Company standards. Work requires knowledge of cost estimating, planning and scheduling techniques. Responsibilities: Develops plans and programs in response to present and anticipated space and facility requirements. Coordinates final approval of facility designs. Formulates operating rules, regulations, and procedures. Inspects plant facilities or reviews inspection reports, to determine repairs, replacement, or improvements required. Coordinates activities of personnel involved in repair and maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment to minimize interruption and improve efficiency. Prepares related reports and audits current procedures to monitor efficiency of operations. Evaluates proposals and bids for various design, contracting, and follow-on services as required. Recommends bid acceptance. Reviews reports of expenditures for previous year and proposed improvements on facilities in order to prepare budget estimates for upcoming year. Ensures employee conformance to established practices and proper training of staff. Responsible for hiring, employee motivation, and counseling of employees supervised. May assist in the design and development of new facilities. Responsible for the enforcement of company security/safety policies and procedures. May be responsible for the direction of security personnel and programs at company office facility. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business, management, engineering or related field or at least five years of progressive supervisory experience in managing contracts for maintenance, operation, or construction services for facilities, utilities or infrastructure. Good communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs is required. Additional Information: Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. Position may require travel. This position may require a valid Driver’s License. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location. This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules. Physical Requirements: Constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness Must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Position involves working in environments (e.g., shipboard, labs, outside locations, etc.) where mechanical equipment, weapons, etc. are being installed, tested, analyzed/monitored, operated, and/or maintained. Equipment may be loud and noisy or have exposed moving components. Such positions may involve routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying. Special Requirements: Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed. Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
