Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Senior Network Design Engineer The Senior Network Design Engineer supports the US Government on a proprietary program within Amentum/Delta Bridge. As the senior network design engineer and architect, the successful applicant will: Work in close coordination with the customer, Project Managers, and other service area representatives to coordinate team network design and implementation efforts. Serve as a project expert and provide expert-level technical contributions to facilitate successful project completion Play a crucial role in creating, maintaining, and modifying an IP network’s hardware, software and virtualized components. Conduct occasional site surveys, install, and configure network solutions. Mentor network engineering team members, review documentation to ensuring engineering quality, and maintain responsibility for projects and tasks assigned to the team. Must remain aware of new industry standards and updated systems/versions Be involved in multiple projects as either the lead or solo engineer and should be able to: Design, configure, install, and test network devices and systems both domestically and at remote site locations. Multi-task and start/pause projects according to customer priorities. Support Network Design for the partner contractor FE teams; developing and providing detailed designs with supporting implementation, test, and transition plans. Develop an internal Configuration/Change Management process. Must be a practicing senior CCNA/current CCNP that is using it daily. Usher proposed system changes through the Configuration Change Management process to successful implementation Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conduct testing of network design both in a lab environment, and a live environment. Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways. Communicate activity status through multiple venues and provide quantitative project reports to the PM and Chief of Engineering. Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. Minimum Requirements The ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. 10 years of hands-on network experience, including installation and configuration of network appliances (Cisco/Juniper routers, firewalls, and switches). Engaging with internal and external customers for briefings, issue escalation, and complex solution development Strong verbal and written communication skills The ability to work as a team member, to follow proper/standard templates and configurations. The ability to work with minimal oversight – a self-starter will fit well in this position. Expected to work within the programs core days and hours Up to 10% travel to our OCONUS hubs, as team lead, developer, or O&M specialist. CCNA (Senior in Knowledge). CCNP strongly desired. Driving standardization and automation into all aspects of the network platform Desired: Familiarization with Cloud and VMware desired. CCNP Previous OCONUS work is desired.
