Technical Manager

Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Technical Manager Amentum is seeking a Technical Manager (TM) to support an active Department of Homeland Security (DHS) contract. The position requires extensive CONUS travel. The primary place of performance will be a combination of the Amentum facilities, DHS and state or local Public Health Laboratories. Technical Manager Responsibilities: • The TM provides direct oversight for technical and QA-related issues and ensures compliance with protocols and guidance, develops corrective actions, and related operational tasks and issues. • Communicates contract issues to the Program in accordance with the contract deliverable schedule and provides status updates and/or areas of potential risk associated with staffing performance in a Monthly Status Report. • Conducts annual technical visits to numerous operational locations, including those staffed through cooperative agreements. • Daily oversight and management of all technical processes associated contract. Qualifications: Possess a Ph.D. or master’s degree from an accredited university in microbiology, molecular biology or related course work in biological sciences with at least two years of laboratory bench experience, utilizing PCR, aseptic techniques and biological assays, and at least two years of experience serving as a Senior Scientist or Team Leader of a laboratory team/project. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university requires five years of laboratory bench experience, including at least two years of experience as a Team Leader/Senior Scientist. BSL-3 experience is desirable. Demonstrated performance in assignments that require high attention to detail Demonstrated performance in assignments requiring adherence to strict operating procedures and professional integrity Microsoft Office Suite qualifications. Strong research, verbal and written communications skills.
