PagerDuty continues to scale our mobile application and we need passionate mobile engineers who can help enhance what we have and iterate on new directions quickly. Here at PagerDuty, our customer is #1 and will look for folks who are passionate, interactive and strong communicators/cross collaborators with high levels of empathy. 

At the Senior levels of engineering, the softer skills like coaching, mentoring, ability to go out and navigate the business and work cross collaboratively with Product and other business units are just as important to develop as the technical, coding skills.

We need folks who are deemed leaders and culture champions within their respective organizations/teams to bring their passion and help the PagerDuty mobile team navigate new waters as we scale to never seen before levels as a high growth public company operating in the enterprise customer space. 

How You Contribute to Our Vision: Key Responsibilities

• From day one, you’ll be designing, coding, testing and shipping mobile application services for Android and iOS while bringing a strong sense of collaboration, business acumen and ability to cross collaborate
• Since we own and operate what we build, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers across teams.
• We test in production, so you’ll be involved in planning and running experiments where we deliberately stress our systems to find weaknesses and fix them proactively. 
• With 10,000 global customers and growing, you’ll be solving really interesting technical challenges while helping to scale our product to keep up with demand. 
• You will work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to build solutions that solve customer problems.
• You will be participating in your team’s on-call rotation, triaging and addressing production issues as they arise.

About You: Skills and Attributes

• You have a track record of stepping up and leading successful engineering projects sourcing your own projects and bringing them back to the mobile team
• You have experience working on highly available distributed systems.
• You are comfortable with loosely defined requirements where you exercise your analytical skills to clarify questions, share your approach and collaborate with your team to build & test elegant solutions.
• You have a drive to get results without letting anything get in your way.
• You have a desire to stay ahead of the latest industry trends and technologies, a track record of sharing contributions to the wider engineering community and a commitment to continuous learning.
• You have experience coaching and mentoring others.
• You have an understanding of the importance of empathy - you view other opinions with an open mind and clearly communicate your thoughts in order to reach technical solutions quickly.

Minimum Requirements

• 5 years of mobile development experience, designing and operating large SaaS applications with scalability, availability, and performance requirements in mind. 
• Experience working in an agile environment with iterative development and fast feedback
• Experience with at least one modern programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C
• Experience with tools that ensure your high quality work makes a smooth, automated, repeatable transition from your machine to our staging and production environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS cloud ecosystem.
• Advanced knowledge, experience in Kotlin and working on Android platform or experience in Swift and working on the iOS platform
• Significant development experience working on customer-facing and web-based systems
