Essential Job Functions:
- Provides formal training for all servers to provide a great experience for all residents and guests.
- Establishes and assigns side work responsibilities for each section, by meal period.
- Inspects to ensure quality and accountability.
- Provides a great experience for all residents and guests.
- Ensure that all food & beverage venues in the dining room are clean and well maintained for all aspects of service; including tables and chairs that are set in a uniform and consistent manner.
- Ensure that all residents and guests are greeted promptly as they enter the Dining room or Lounge areas.
- This position will provide excellent and timely customer service to all residents and guests.
- Pre-open review for Pre-meal line up for Dining Room is conducted prior opening includes but not limited to:
- The daily menu and specials.
- Personal presentation is in accordance with standards for uniforms and grooming.
- Inventory stock ready.
- Resident special needs and concerns.
- Daily Service Training Points.
- Prepares food items and serves food to residents within scheduled timeframe.
- Recognizes performance issues and provide staff with corrective solutions.
- Cleans and maintains a neat, safe working environment including the kitchen and food service areas.
- Ensures servers follow sequence of service for each resident and guest.
- Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings.
- Complies with state sanitation codes.
- Maintains inventory control, places food/supply orders with kitchen, verifies that items are received appropriately and restocks dining room supply shelves/closet.
- Reports problems, concerns, issues observed with food or beverage service and communicates them appropriately.
- Observes changes in resident status, needs, or preferences and communicates with appropriate team members.
- Records resident information as required.
- Avoids loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.
- Adheres to procedures for fire, life, safety, disaster, security, worker safety and other emergency procedures.
- Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independent, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents.
- Maintains the quality of food prepared and samples the food to ensure the quality of the food served to the residents.
- Performs other tasks/duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in dining room and food prep preferred.
- Prefer prior experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Requires attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
- Has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime to meet the requirements of the position. Either by personal coverage or delegation to ensure staffing needs are met.
- Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other community staff.
- Ability to creatively problem-solve in both resident care and employee management.
- Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Pass a Criminal Background and fingerprint check.
- Meets all mandatory health requirements by state regulations Lead Server Job Description.
- Ability to work independently (with minimum supervision).
- Maintains current Food Handlers card Maintains a current OLCC permit.
- Must have strong understanding of the English language sufficient to read and write.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Walk/Stand – must be able to continuously walk and stand.

- Climb – must be able to climb stairs on a frequent basis, with the opportunity to utilize the elevator as an alternate resource if available.
- Bend – must be able to bend at the waist, knees, hips and spine on a frequent basis; may require frequently manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
- Squat – must be able to squat on a frequent basis to reach below the knee, may require lifting of 50 pounds or less.
- Twist or rotate – must be able to twist or rotate occasionally at the trunk, hips, knees, and neck, manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
- Reach– must be able to reach on a frequent basis. May occasionally reach overhead, requiring manipulation of weight of 10 pounds or less, and below waist manipulating weight of 25 pounds or more.
- Sensory Vision – must be able to read clearly with or without corrective lenses.
- Hear - Must be able to hear telephone audible alarms.
