What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef de Cuisine position at Palette Bistro?

Palette Bistro is looking for a talented and experienced Chef to join our team. Lead culinary program of one of the highest rated restaurants in northern michigan.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Wineguys Restaurant Group in the most positive manner with current, future guests, management and staff

  • Creates, costs and executes menu items consistent with company values of flavor/presentation/value
  • Makes recommendations for hiring, evaluating, compensating and terminating employees.
  • Leads 6 – 15 employees by example and with clear communication. Keeps proper record keeping on all kitchen employees
  • Provides ongoing training, support and growth opportunity for kitchen staff members
  • Must be able to manage labor and food cost consistent with company objectives

Job Requirements:

  • Guest Focus: Must believe that the guest is the pinnacle of the organization
  • Teamwork/communication: Must lead by example. Maintains the gold standard of appearance and communication and be approachable towards all members of staff.
  • Food: Must have a passion for creating flavorful dishes that are presented consistently well
  • Management: Must have prior supervisory experience in a restaurant
  • Accountability: Must be able to manage your time, maintain efficiencies and schedule others appropriately.
  • Exceed all health department standards and teaches best food handling procedures (serve safe)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
