The Assistant Controller will use industry knowledge, soft skills, and technical abilities to effectively mentor, train, and develop accounting staff to maximize output. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and report on monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to include accurate reporting of the organization's financials, evaluating the company’s financial transactions to ensure compliance with statutory accounting and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Oversee the interim and year-end audit process, including audit report review
- Perform management and provide oversight of the treasury management process
- Prepare and coordinate business activity reports, bi-annual financial plans, and annual budgets
- Act as an accounting liaison to the company’s line of business managers
- Create, record, and implement the company’s financial and accounting policies and procedures while working to identify possible areas of risk for fraud
- Develop accounting staff, including training, assignment, and monitoring of tasks, knowledge transfer, and evaluating performance
- Keep departmental process and procedure manuals up to date
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- 10 years industry experience
- 5 years in management
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and understand financial reports
- Willingness to collaborate in a team environment
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Demonstrated ability to multitask
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Developed Excel skills
Work Model:
- Hybrid schedule: Mondays and Fridays, WFH available after training
