What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Supv-District Imaging position at Palomar Health?

Coordinates multi-departmental and multi-facility Radiology, Cardiac Cath and Radiation Therapy Services to include diagnostic, special procedures, nuclear medicine, ultrasound , CT and Cardiac Cath lab. Supervises the Radiology Cardiac Cath nursing staff in collaboration with Technologists, Radiologists and Medical staff to maintain continuity of quality patient care. Acts as a clinical resource. Implements and provides education for all nursing and radiology ancillary support staff across the system. Accountable for the assessment, evaluation, discipline, coaching and mentoring of nursing staff. Monitor and maintain a quality improvement program according to regulatory requirements. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing OR Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in progress with completion within 3 years of hire


Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Nursing


Minimum Experience:
5 years related clinical experience


Preferred Experience:
2 years of ICU/ER experience
3 - 5 years progressive management experience
Prior financial management


Required Certification:
American Heart Association recognized Advanced Cardiac Life Support
American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare Provider


Preferred Certification:
Not Applicable


Required License:
Current CA RN License
