Palomar Specialty is seeking QA Reporting Analyst who will quality control critical reports developed for both internal and external customers as part of Palomar Specialty’s QA Services group. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining strategies to validate accuracy across all reports. This role works collaboratively with Business units, BA’s, SQL Developers, ETL and Data Warehouse Engineers to review technical requirements and produce test strategies, test scenarios, and test cases to validate code that generates data in reports and dashboards based upon business requirements.
Design and develop test strategy and test cases for data and reporting accuracy
Gather information from disparate systems to resolve problems
Perform end-to-end transaction testing (from point of origin to reporting) to ensure data accuracy, data integrity, completeness, and conformance with reporting requirements
Review reporting requirements and internal processes established to meet those requirements, including ensuring comprehension of underlying products, accounting concepts, data elements, and data flow
Write, execute and debug SQL queries to confirm data completeness, correctness, data transformation and data quality testing
Collaborate with R&D and business groups to formulate innovative solutions to improve feature and content engagement.
Document and maintain content and structure of all testing documents / artifacts
Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team
Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management.
Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications

Requirements
Requires a BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance or relevant experience of 3 years
At least 3+ years of work history in an analytical or reporting environment
Proficiency with SQL Server, Reporting Services, Data Warehousing systems
General familiarity with finance reporting as it relates to the insurance industry a plus
Knowledge of accounting, internal audit or internal control experience in the financial services industry a plus
Experience testing Pega, Salesforce or other types of BPM applications a plus
Ability to work in an agile development environment where developers and testing personnel work closely together to ensure requirements are met or exceeded
Strong interest in financial products and new processes/systems/activities
