- Job Summary: At Pan Atlantic Foundation, we bring the world to your community through international high school exchange. Our desire is to increase cultural understanding for the local community by working with international teens. This is a part-time position that can easily be done in your spare time to earn a little extra money and more importantly provide an opportunity to influence the life of an international teen. The Area Representative is an independent contractor position, so it allows you to keep any full time position you already may have.
The Department of State doesn’t allow us host families to be compensated, so host families are volunteer. Some Area Rep’s have many students each year, and some just have a few. It all depends on how much you want to work. You work entirely from home on your own schedule
- Responsibilities and Duties: Professionally represent Pan Atlantic Foundation in your community, find host families, maintain relationships with high schools and raise public awareness about international student exchange, conduct host family interview, check their references, perform host family orientation before student arrives, monthly check-in with student and host family and document online, check in with school each semester.
A significant portion of the AR role involves marketing the program through outreach and networking. So the people that are best suited for AR work have the following skills/characteristics:
· Sales, networking and/or community outreach experience
· Strong communication skills
· Ability to work independently and complete tasks by deadline
- Qualifications and skills: Must own computer and have internet access, must have genuine interest in working with teens and families, must be mature and able to remain objective, must be professional in appearance and manner, maintain good relationships with local schools, good counseling skills are helpful in this job, must be critically perceptive and objective in working with potential host families, must be at least 25 years of age, should be well networked in your community, a sensitivity, understanding and passion for creating global understanding between cultures. This is an excellent position for teachers or education related field.
Compensation:
$1000 per placement for academic year student, plus possible bonuses, opportunity for annual international travel to our conference (all expenses paid), additional incentives may be offered throughout the year as well. Potential to earn $1000 or more per month. This is a job where you earn as much as you want to by how much you put into the job.
