What You'll Do Here
- Lead a team of highly motivated, geographically dispersed Underwriters, Processors, and Post Closers, responsible for the end-to-end mortgage fulfillment process
- Setting, driving, and analyzing Key Performance Indicators
- Be a point of escalation for team members at the scenario desk, post closing department, ensuring compliance guidelines are followed by all team members
- Provide assistance and resolution for denial reviews and Underwriting department.
- Facilitate effective outcomes for cross-functional interactions.
- Maintain an excellent reputation and relationship with all Legacy Home Loans stakeholders and colleagues
What You Bring
- 8-10 years of experience working in the mortgage industry, leading underwriting and processing teams across multiple different states and sites
- You understand underwriting, processing, closing/funding & post-closing operations very well having worked closely with those functions previously
- Ability to use critical and creative thinking to handle a wide range of complex business decisions and situations
- Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and offer recommendations
- Desire to take initiative, comfort with change and ambiguity
- Ability to manage, track and prioritize a large number of tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse groups, including senior management
- BA/BS in business, finance, economics or other technical/quantitative discipline, or equivalent work experience
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time- Bend, stoop and stretch as needed
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing and or ambulating (Employee has some control over the length of time)
- Prolonged use of computers, telephone, and other standard office equipment which includes reading, writing, listening or speaking
- Fluency in English language (written, oral, spoken); fluency in a second language desirable
