Position Overview
The DME Specialist will be responsible to oversee the DME & Ortho tech operations in the Summit office. Typical responsibilities will include ordering, fitting, inventory, dispensing, billing management, data interpretation, specialty DME authorizations, collecting payment and supporting the clinical team with DME updates, fee schedules, and general product changes.
- Work with primary Panorama DME Director/Manager when overall changes are made on DME contracts, fee schedules, updates on specialty product pricing, or general product changes.
- Unpack all inventory, update MotionMD and other inventory management systems as inventory arrives, in addition to coding/approving all invoices for accounts payable
- Inventory all DME & clinical medical supplies and evaluate products that are not moving or needed every 6 months.
- Fitting all patients that need DME.
- Work directly with DME representatives on delays, nation-wide shortages, allocations, warranties, logo printing, drop shipping DME directly to patients and other product issues that arise.
- Train new clinical staff on DME & Ortho tech processes and update staff as changes occur.
- Reviewing MotionMD (Direct and OC) on a daily/weekly basis to ensure that DME is on the appropriate for, forms are filled out to be submitted.
- Run monthly reports and audits on all patients to ensure DME has been billed.
- Create, update, and manage workflow for self-pay/no charge DME situations for clinical and front desk staff.
- Work with coding and billing departments to correct errors or oversights.
- Oversee the stocking, organizing of DME off site storage and staff who utilize it.
- Work with providers and Reps to make sure providers are getting what products they prefer, and that potential price differences are addressed before any major changes occur.
- Create and manage workflow for clinical staff on ordering, dispensing, and billing for specialty DME products.
- Track Specialty DME authorizations, shipments, adding inventory to MotionMD as it arrives, and distributing it to the appropriate clinical staff for fitting. Follow up once DME has been dispensed to ensure it has been charted and charges are correct.
- Work with Bird Medical on authorization, dispensing and billing for Medicaid patients.
- Create and regularly update workflow management for clinical staff.
- Work with patients on authorization denials and self-pay options for patients who lack DME coverage.
- Work with Panorama IT department on pick lists and making sure all appropriate L codes are loaded as new products are added to inventory and that mapping generates correct charges.
- Conduct audits
- Oversee the ordering, organizing and inventory management of the DME store.
- Manage the DME credit card machine, supplies and refunds.
- Work with SDO for marketing of the store.
- Oversee all medical supply ordering.
Knowledge/Skills Abilities Required
- 2-year supply chain management preferred
- Ortho tech experience preferred
- Knowledge of EMR
- Experience with coordinating patient care and procurement of equipment

Pay & Benefits Information
This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime. The pay range for this position is ______ to _______ per hour.
