Job Description:
• Our client is seeking a Machine Shop Lead for their Corporate Production Facility in Auburn, New York. This person will be a working lead within the Machining and Welding Departments.
Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee the activities of the shop to produce quality products, meet customer due dates and specifications
• Quote and manage custom jobs
• Set up and operate conventional CNC lathes and mills
• Fabricate products to meet established quality standards and the requirements of our customers
• Determine training required for technicians and complete all associated documentation
• Develop cost reduction techniques and continuous improvement methods
• Establish and follow maintenance schedules for shop equipment
• Work alongside engineering in development of new product and procedures
• Provide technical expertise as needed
Job Requirements:
• Must have a proven ability to lead a team, 5 years’ experience in shop leadership desired
• Must have knowledge of theory and principles of machining and machine shop operations
• Associate’s degree from two-year college or technical school; 5 years of machining experience and/or training including CNC programming (preferably conversational) and machining or equivalent combination and experience
