The Plat Manager oversees the platting process for land development projects, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate completion of plat documents in compliance with regulations. Responsibilities
- Oversee the platting process for multiple land development projects, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.
- Review, coordinate, and manage the preparation of plats, legal descriptions, and other necessary documents with internal teams, including engineers and surveyors.
- Oversee plat document submissions to city, county, and state agencies, and monitor approval status to ensure timely processing.
- Communicate with clients, municipalities, and other stakeholders to provide updates on platting progress, resolve issues, and address concerns.
- Lead efforts to resolve any discrepancies or challenges in the platting process.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to land development and platting.
- Ensure that all plat-related documentation is accurate, complete, and meets the company’s quality standards.
- Manage project timelines, ensuring that plat documents are completed and submitted on schedule.
- Manage and provide leadership to a team of plat coordinators, ensuring efficient workflow, professional development, and adherence to project timelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy in plat preparation.
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in land development, surveying, or a related field, with a focus on platting processes.
- Proven experience managing platting projects, including coordination with local municipalities and governing bodies.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and other relevant software.
- Familiarity with legal descriptions, land records, and surveying terminology.
- Ability to work independently and lead platting processes from start to finish.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm with occasional overtime as needed.
