Business Systems Analyst

Paradigm in seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support our client, a global provider of legal services. The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for developing functional requirements based on the lifecycle of a class action or similar matter, then define how the data and business rules will translate to internal applications.

Type: 12 Month Contract
Location: North Carolina or Remote, United States (EST work hours)

As the Business Systems Analyst, you will:

Under the supervision of the Data Services Manager, the Business Systems Analyst (BSA) manages and shepherds data through the entire lifecycle of a class action or mass tort matter. The team supports functions from the onset of a project, known as case development, all the way through to post-settlement and project closure. Tasks can include initial gathering/scrubbing/loading of client and lienholder data, merging data files for potential class members, receiving and processing lien information, computing, and disbursing settlement amounts, and analyzing data to ensure desired outcomes are being met. The BSA works directly with Client Services, Project Managers and Coordinators, other BSAs, and others to ensure timely project deliverables and identify data-oriented solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily tasks as assigned.
• Ensure final product satisfies the product requirement and meet client expectations.
• Maintain accurately and timely outputs as determined by the department.
• Perform assigned responsibilities related to implementation, ongoing process improvements, and comprehensive documentation of all operational processes.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and continually improving training, service guides, communication, and systems to ensure quality throughout all processes
• Drive progress regarding defect corrections, reporting enhancements, and process improvements.
• Using tools such as Excel, Access, SQL Server, and others, directly query, assess, and analyze data to ensure requirements are being met.
• Lead, conduct, or consult in user acceptance test exercises to ensure results are acceptable and meet requirements.
• Interact and correspond professionally with team members, project management, clients, and other stakeholders

• Four-year college degree or equivalent industry experience.
• A creative mindset and the ability to use a contextualized approach to a problem.
• Able to solve/work with complex systems and issues.
• Self-motivated problem solving, an eagerness to investigate and learn when obstacles or challenges arise.
• Ability to work in an environment with deadlines and shifting priorities
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of applications and databases used for processing.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office tools, particularly Excel.
• Excel and/or data manipulation experience, using large data sets.
• Ability to track multiple tasks on different timelines and be proactive.
• Experience with relational databases and ability to comprehend moderately complex SQL logic desired.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; able to adjust for intended audience.
• Fluent in English.
