Paradyme is seeking a Senior Accountant to assist our Operations and Finance teams with accounting operations within Deltek CostPoint. Accounting is the backbone of the company and must be accurate and consistent. The four-person accounting team is small but mighty, but we are one team at Paradyme. The Senior Accountant's role is vital to ensure that company can continue to move forward and grow.
Our ideal candidate has a solid understating of AP, AR, and general ledger entries and reconciliations. They also have an understanding and experience running payroll. This person should be able to work collaboratively with the accounting and finance team as well as the operations team to ensure the business is running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Review bi-monthly timesheets for accuracy and completion
- Process payroll within our accounting system
- Participate in month end close activities, including the preparation of monthly journal entries
- Prepares complex reconciliations for necessary balance sheet accounts and various other general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
- Verify and process AP activity as needed throughout the month
- Coordinates research and reporting of analytical reviews/variance analyses of certain balance sheet accounts and results of operations
- Maintain and update purchase orders in Costpoint on a regular basis with the assistance of the Contracts Department
- Manage monthly reconciliations of our corporate American Express account
- Setup New hires in Costpoint
- Assist with any CostPoint account issues such as resetting resources passwords
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or business related field
- 5 years work experience in a professional environment
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suit of tools, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Preferred Skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
- Prior experience with accounting software (CostPoint, Unanet, Costpoint, etc.)
- Supervisory/leadership skills
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-starter who takes initiative and can work under moderate supervision
- Ability to multi-task and manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written) skills
