Biologist (Microbiology and Aquatic Toxicology)

Paragon Laboratories, Inc. is looking for dedicated and motivated Biologists to join our team.

OUR COMPANY

For over 25 years, Paragon has been a local provider of chemical, physical, and biological laboratory testing services to customers across three primary markets: Environmental; Petroleum; and Chemical.

THE JOB

As a Biologist on our team, you will spend your days testing water samples using applied Microbiology and Aquatic Toxicology techniques and methods to ensure our customers’ waters do not pose a risk to human or environmental health.

In joining our company, you will be providing a critical service in support of our 600 customers in the metro and tri-state areas, while being given the opportunity to learn and grow through extensive role-specific training.

Our team of Biologists work either Sunday through Thursday OR Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Working with time sensitive procedures, it is necessary for our team of Biologists to provide coverage seven days a week. As such, we are requesting candidates apply only if they are willing and able to work either of the above schedules.

OUR TEAM OF BIOLOGISTS

• Perform testing according to EPA, Standard Methods, and internal SOPs
• Maintain live cultures and perform vacuum filtrations, enzyme substrate tests, pour plating, media preparations, oxygen demand tests, ISE tests, qualitative evaluations, and calculations
• Use and maintain various laboratory equipment including balances, incubators, coolers, water baths, autoclave, high temperature sealers, ion selective electrodes, and temperature probes
• Monitor procedure performance and maintain documentation for QA/QC purposes
