Trading Assistant

TITLE: Trading Assistant

LOCATION: San Francisco, California

THE COMPANY: Parallax Volatility Advisers, LP (“Parallax”) 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Senior Trader 

Summary Description of Role: As a Trading Assistant, you will be focused on supporting the daily trading activities of the trade desk. This role could provide the opportunity to transition to a junior trader for a successful candidate.

Specific Responsibilities include:

• General trade desk support including:
  • Answering phones
  • Basic equity execution
• Trader communication set-up
• Coordinate with traders and middle office to book trades, minimize trade discrepancies and create broker trade recaps
• Assist with PNL analysis
• Responsible for Electronic Execution System including:
  • Onboarding and decommissioning new platforms
  • User setup and configuration
  • Risk limit management

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance preferred
• Entry level to 2 years of Experience
• Must be a U.S citizen or authorized to work in the U.S on a permanent basis
• Willingness to work market hours (~5:30am-2:00pm)

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

• Experience/interest in trading and financial markets
• Strong communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced trading environment

TECHNICAL ABILITIES:

• Familiarity with Bloomberg a plus
• Familiarity with Python a plus
• Experience with Excel
