Licensed Practical Nurse Rates
Weekday Standard Rate — $40.00 per hour
Weekend Differential — $42.00 per hour
Job Description
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure
- Administer medications as ordered and report adverse reactions to medications or treatments
- Dress wounds, give alcohol rubs, apply compresses, ice bags, and hot water bottles, bathe and dress patients, and collect blood and urine samples
- Monitor patients and chart medical records accurately
- Report the condition of a patient back to RNs and doctors
- Plans and manages patient care according to each patient’s needs.
- Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition.
- Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
- Provides routine care for patients.
- Observes patients’ health.
- Reviews medical charts.
- Accompanies patients to their rooms.
- Assists physicians and registered nurses.
- Supervise nursing assistants if required
- All other tasks assigned by the facility
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
- One year of experience working in a Nursing Home.
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of proven experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must be a graduate of an accredited LPN nursing program
- Active LPN license without any felonies or active investigations noted on your license
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
- Ability to perform IV Infusion preferred
Physical Requirements
- Able to bend and stand an average of 6 hours per day.
- Lift up to 50-75 pounds.
- Able to write up to 3 hours per day.
- Able to work in a stressful environment.
- Able to assess and communicate with all ill patients, co-workers, and the public.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
All Nurses must complete general nursing orientation, department-specific nursing orientation, education, and competencies with demonstrated proficiency upon hire when duties are modified and as applicable annually thereafter.
