Job Summary:
The Base Operations department is looking for a motivated individual to join our team, and help us follow through on our dedication to preserving our unrivaled mountain environment and work towards Vail Resorts Commitment to Zero Waste to Landfill by 2030.
Job Specifications:
- Expected Pay Range: $22.00 - $23.76 / hour
- Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time
- Skill Level: Lead
Job Responsibilities:
- Train seasonal staff.
- Coordinate timely recycling pickups with appropriate staffing.
- Maintain daily organization of recycling staging area including ferrous & non-ferrous metal recycling, wood recycling, and miscellaneous products received from operations.
- Must demonstrate tactful driving ability and be comfortable maneuvering in tight spaces such as loading docks.
- Must be able to operate a forklift after proper training.
- Show a commitment to safety: assist with developing and participating in all departmental safety initiatives and attending monthly safety meetings.
- Will help drive the growth of Environmental Initiatives and raise awareness of Environmental efforts at the resort level through employee education.
- Must exhibit exceptional guest service to both internal and external guests on a daily basis.
- All other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Valid driver's license - required.
- Able to work outside in all weather conditions - required.
- Able to perform manual labor, lift 50 lbs, and handle or move 100lbs - required.
- Strong environmental ethic - required.
- Able to ski or ride at an intermediate level - preferred.
- Able to work independently and with a team and prioritize workload successfully- required
- Able to provide exceptional internal and external customer service- required
- Knowledge of basic carpentry and tool use- preferred
- Computer literate- preferred
The expected pay range is $22.00 - $23.76. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
