Blow Molding Mechanic-Setup/Process Technician - 3rd Shift (1045pm to706am)

Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in a plastics or similar manufacturing environment, direct blow molding experience is preferred
- Proficient mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical skills
- Proficiency in hand tools
- Communication - Escalate progress and concerns in a professional manner
- Follow processes and procedures to maintain a safe workplace
- Attention to detail
- Ability to retain information and follow direction to perform independently after training
- General computer knowledge to enter, track, and, submit work orders
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Exerting up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 25 lbs of force constantly to move objects
- Must be able to lift 75 to 100 lbs occasionally
- Exposure to loud noises in our production facility
Primary Duties
- Operate, start, and stop all production blow molding and auxiliary equipment in a safe manner.
- Perform daily walk downs to ensure machines are running at required efficiency and production levels. Make mechanical adjustments as required.
- Perform complete machine changeovers, including all downstream equipment.
- Process new and existing extrusion blow molded and reheat and blow molded bottles of polyethylene, polypropylene, and PET resins.
- Ensure all bottles are setup and running within quality specifications.
- Train junior mechanics and maintenance apprentices on blow molding, auxiliary equipment, and mechanical processes.
- Troubleshoot processing and production issues on all equipment and suggest and implement ways to improve production.
- Work closely with management on items and equipment that need to be purchased or repaired and log them in our maintenance software system.
- Work closely with maintenance to ensure equipment is at industry standard.
- With direct supervision of Quality Control personnel, help perform quality checks with the known bottle specifications while completing the proper documentation to support findings.
- Work with management to review mold drawings, other tooling, and specifications necessary for new bottle projects.
- Maintain proper paperwork, logs, and records either manually or in computer systems/mobile applications.
- Be a team player by assisting coworkers where needed and performing other duties, as assigned.
