What are the responsibilities and job description for the GPC Strategy Manager position at Parks, Experiences and Products?

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Global Product Creation Strategy, this individual will support and influence the strategic direction of the Global Product Creation organization (which includes merchandising, creative design, product design and development, planning, supply chain, and material sustainability).

This individual will work on the essential product development initiatives that will equip TWDC to unlock its next wave of short-term and long-term growth in products, while delivering innovation, increased value and leverage to the organization.

Responsibilities :
Essential Functions:
  • Development of Sustainable Strategies for Long Term Growth
  • Contribute to strategic vision and objectives of the Global Product Creation group through support of long-range plans
  • Drive elements of global, consumer-led, and product-specific business strategies for priority initiatives that create long-term value for the segment
  • Support strategies to identify key opportunities to scale product creation efforts, and streamline and simplify how we create and develop product globally
  • Track ongoing results of key initiatives through KPIs and supporting business metrics
  • Maintain a strong awareness of the global merchandise business, including knowledge of licensed, vertical, and flexible business models
  • Contribute to critical deliverables and projects related to GPC strategy and transformation work
  • Line-of-Sight Visibility and Critical Connection Across GPC
  • Serve as day-to-day partner for a single focus area of GPC
  • Provide line-of-sight to Senior Manager on daily business issues
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to unlock areas of intersection / interdependency (“connect the dots”)
  • Build and foster collaborative partnerships across functions and departments within Disney Parks, Experiences and Products to identify business issues, risks, prioritize solutions, drive alignment & implement changes on behalf of GPC
  • Cross-Functional Team Management

  • Work with multi-functional project teams to deliver new business initiatives and/or evolve existing strategies
  • Contribute to a culture that fosters teamwork, creativity, and innovation while driving accountability to results

Basic Qualifications :
  • 5 years of experience in a related field
  • College degree in related field of study
  • Proven analytical capabilities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Familiarity with working in—or with—large matrixed organizations
  • Strong communication skills and capacity to develop and deliver presentations, including demonstrated experience in creating visually-compelling decks and materials
  • Team player with track record for building strong working relationships
  • Ability to balance shifting priorities to manage and deliver complex projects on time

Required Education :
  • 5 years of experience in a related field
  • College degree in related field of study

Preferred Education :
  • MBA
