What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at Parkview Orthopaedic Group?
Parkview Orthopaedic Group is a multi-specialty orthopaedic practice located in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. We are currently seeking several experienced Medical Office Receptionists. Your role as a receptionist is to welcome patients to our office, register new and returning patients, collect insurance information and payments, and more. As one of the first points of contact for our patients, your role is critical to the success of the practice.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check-in new and existing patients in NextGen EMR
- Process new patient paperwork, and collect insurance information, copays and patient balances
- Check-out patients, which includes collecting applicable balances and scheduling follow-up appointments
- Understand and adhere to HIPAA regulations, as you will be dealing with confidential patient information
- Many other duties as assigned
SKILLS:
- The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year experience as a Medical Office Receptionist
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask, as ours is a busy, fast-paced office
- Skillful on the computer, with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred
- The right individual will be friendly, welcoming, and courteous, as they will often be the first point of contact for visitors to our office
- Works well in a team environment
HOURS:
Shift times will vary as they revolve around the physicians’ clinics, but all are based on a Monday-Friday 8am – 5pm business day. Hours may be earlier or later depending on the day.
LOCATION:
We are looking for Receptionists to staff both our Palos Heights and New Lenox office locations. Flexibility to cover additional locations in Mokena, Oak Lawn, and Joliet may be preferred. Please note your preferred location(s).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
