Job title: Market Truss Sales
Salary: Starting at $61k to $78k a year, depending on experience commission
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am to 3:30pm
Location: Lacey, Washington
The Market Truss Salesperson is responsible for using the company's FACE values, mission, and vision as guides to provide truss solutions to customers and fellow team members and grow roof and floor truss business in the market.
This position directly reports to the Division Sales Manager and interacts daily with all employees and customers. They also interact regularly with Truss Plant Manager and design teams as well as corporate employees and industry associates.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of Roof and Floor Truss design and construction
- Knowledge of home and commercial construction principles, practices, and protocols
- Knowledge of the effects of "market conditions" upon the wood products industry
- Ability to speak, write, and read English is required
- Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
- Must be able to type 30 WPM
- Proficient in MiTek design software or similar
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Class C driver's license or reliable alternative transportation required
- Willingness to commute
- Strong organizational skills
Duties and Responsibilities
- Help grow truss business and meet individual sales goals
- Continually update product knowledge and selling techniques
- Have an intimate understanding of the market including all top builders and competitors
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers and sales teams
- Understand truss design and be able to assist design staff as needed
- Able to provide clear direction and lead a group of co-workers to complete a project
- Strives for continuous improvement, seeking out, listening, and responding to input from customers as well as employees
- Help to achieve facilities annual profit projections
- Demonstrate great listening and follow-up skills
- Consistently seek and identify ways to create value for the customer including attention to plan details and value engineering opportunities
- Understand how to use a construction master and or scientific calculator
- Understand truss hangers and knows how to manually specify them using catalogs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
The Market Truss Salesperson works in the field as well as in the office at a retail location or truss plant.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work indoors in a normal office environment for an entire day
- Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be able to drive a vehicle when necessary
