What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver-Helper position at Parsec, Inc.?

In the Atlanta area, Parsec provides services at the Norfolk Southern Intermodal Terminal in Austell, Georgia. Parsec operates 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Employees will train at the entry-level Groundman position for a minimum of two weeks. Groundman will walk up to three miles within a shift. This position is responsible for directing Crane Operators who are loading and unloading cargo containers from railcars, removing and installing IBC locks. Employees will also be trained in the Hostler Driver position. Drivers perform a variety of driving tasks, including transporting containers, trailers, and chassis from the rail track and other areas of the Intermodal yard in a safe and efficient manner.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license
- Willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must comply with established safety rules, policies, and procedures, including wearing required safety equipment
- Ability to pass pre-employment background screen and drug screen
- Pay is based on experience and qualifications
WORKING SHIFTS AND HOURS
The Intermodal Terminal Operates 24 hours per day 365 days of the year. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including- days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
