What You'll Be Doing:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Supports MISO operations regarding cultural expertise in the USSTRATCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR). Possess a working knowledge of all cultural and linguistic norms specific to the Combatant Command (CCMD) AOR and provides guidance to the staff that support the CCMD AOR regarding internet-based MISO planning, analysis, execution, and assessments. This staff member performs supervisory and technical guidance for the following functions. Possesses native language fluency, social media proficiency, and an understanding of the online environment (e.g., culture, norms, current events). Analyzes foreign language environments and provides input/expertise to team members that perform statistical pattern/trend analysis and qualitative analysis. Assists team members in surveying the internet to find relevant social networks and nodal pathways that can be analyzed and measured against CCMDs objectives. Provides written and verbal fluency for the CCMD AOR. Provides specific knowledge of historical, political, and cultural anthropology. Provides broad knowledge of the history, political movements, and dissident factions that shaped the CCMD AOR. Works in close coordination with the CCMD Lead and MISO Planners. Provides cross functional expertise to other task areas on an as needed basis.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists the Team Lead in all mission requirements.
Demonstrates advanced subject matter expertise in job family.
Contributes to and may lead the planning and implementation of large programs in the function, and regularly interfaces with senior management and executive leadership.
Plays a role in overall functional strategic planning.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Candidates must possess at least a BA/BS or MA/MS degree from a certified institution in a relevant field of study. Candidates that have at least 10 years of specific and relevant work experience may be considered in place of a degree.
Candidates must have 5 years of experience in a technical role of a relevant field of work. Experience specific to USSOCOM MISO Support services will be given significant preference.
Must possess Top Secret (TS) Security clearance with Special Compartmentalized Information (SCI) eligibility.
Must be able to obtain US passport.
Requires working knowledge of current on-line applications and social platforms popular in USSTRATCOM AOR.
Must be able to fluently speak and write in the language of candidate’s cultural expertise.
Detailed understanding of topical issues and specific knowledge of historical, political, and cultural anthropology, as it pertains to candidate’s cultural region.
Must have a broad knowledge of the history, political movements, and dissident factions that have shaped candidate’s culture over time.
Knowledge on cultural, norms and current events on the internet with proficiency in social platforms and popular web/mobile applications in the regions of the world in candidate’s culture.
