About this job:
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional who is passionate about people within to take on a critical role within Partner Re’s growing US Life team. The position will play a key role in achieving business development goals at desired profitability levels and to help grow Partner Re’s US Life presence.
You will act as the primary point of contact for PartnerRe for your client base; and develop strong, trusting relationships with key decision makers and influencers in existing and potential client partners.
You will be responsible for development, assessment and negotiation of business opportunities and the overall management of existing client relationships. You will also be a key voice into the strategic direction and priorities of the US life business.
About the role:
- Engage with clients as their reinsurance partner; develop and maintain strategic dialogue with key decision makers and influencers
- Understand client strategy, needs and priorities, and identify opportunities for PartnerRe; communicate them within the broader PartnerRe team as appropriate, and align client’s needs with PartnerRe’s capabilities in order to develop win-win solutions and achieve desired outcomes.
- Develop and ensure execution of client specific strategy and action plans
- Participate in quote reviews; lead quote positioning and negotiation with the client
- Work with cross functional teams to drive profitable business opportunities with clients and manage the overall business relationships
- Travel for face-to-face client visits and industry meetings as appropriate
- Monitor market developments with competitors, carriers and regulators that may impact client or overall strategies
- Work with the leadership team to establish strategic goals, processes and forward-thinking solutions
- Help build and foster a culture that is focused on customer experience and execution excellence
About you:
- Strong knowledge of US life insurance market
- 10 years' experience working in or with complex insurance/reinsurance businesses
- You have passion for working with people and providing solutions to clients
- Proven track record of building productive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- You are a strong communicator and a diplomatic negotiator
- You are results driven and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
- You enjoy working in a diverse team based environment that does not always have bright lines in terms of roles and boundaries
- You utilize your technical and personal skills to help identify opportunities and help provide solutions
- You have strategic vision and strong business acumen
- You enjoy fact paced environment and wiling to rise to new challenges
- You have a high level of empathy and strong listening skills
- You think out of the box, roll your sleeves up and are not afraid to take charge of a situation
- University degree or equivalent education
Additional Information
The ideal candidate would have some combination of the following, but no one is a requirement:
- Strong technical experience in one or more of product development, underwriting, or valuation
- Have experience with pricing or structuring reinsurance solutions
- Have a network of relationships in the industry
- Actuarial credentials are preferred but not required
- Experience in supporting and leading special initiatives/projects in the insurance/reinsurance environment
