Job Position:
Behavioral Health Assessment Coordinator (Full Time Position)

PCL’s Cognitive & Behavioral Health Services Department has one opening for a Behavioral Health Assessment Coordinator (BHAC) to work with people with co-occurring I/DD/Mental Health diagnoses in Polk/Marion/Lane Counties.

Position Overview: 
  • This position will serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Work Emphasis: developing behavioral support documents in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rules and principles of positive behavioral support, development and implementation of presentation material, associated research, presentation development, and providing specialized training for staff and people supported.
Essential Functions, Skills and Abilities:
  • Support and exemplify PCL’s Mission and Values and Playbook Attributes
  • Complete the job duties of a BHAC
  • Ability to function well in a self directed work team
  • Active use of positive behavior support strategies
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Demonstrate active and ongoing learning and skill improvement related to the position
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills. This includes the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experienced in the use of word processing program (i.e., Microsoft Word) and spreadsheet program (i.e., Microsoft Excel)
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Experience in training and creative presentations
  • Ability to present at small and large venues
  • Attaining the certification to train Oregon Intervention System within 18 months of hire. 
Preference given to Applicants with the following:
  • Experience in developing and implementing behavior treatment or support plans
  • Knowledge and experience of the Oregon I/DD system
  • Certified to train the Oregon Intervention System
  • Qualified to bill for Behavioral Related Services through the State of Oregon
  • Supervisory & team development experience
  • Experience using Therapy data based system
Requirements: 
  • Must be at least 18 years old 
  • To qualify for the position you must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science field (Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Education or Social Work) and be able to document 3 years of experience using Positive Behavioral Supports in the I/DD field.
  • Possess a valid ODL with an acceptable driving record (min of 6 months driving experience)
  • Be able to regularly lift a minimum of 50lbs
  • Pass a State/Federal criminal history check (fingerprints may be required)
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening
  • Pass a pre-employment computer skills assessment.
  • BHAC-Apprentice will be expected to continue to actively work towards becoming a fully qualified BHAC.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Behavioral Health Assessment Coordinator: Full time/salaried exempt position, $4,000/per month
  • If a fully qualified candidate cannot be secured, consideration may be made for a BHAC-Apprentice position with preference given to those with both a degree and experience as this a requirement to become a Behavioral Health Assessment Coordinator.
  • BHAC-Apprentice is a full time/salaried exempt position, $3,600/per month
  • Retirement, PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance for FT employees.
