POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager will supervise, coach, facilitate cross-training, maintain updated job descriptions, perform timely evaluations, and create & maintain SOP’s of the clinic accounting department staff. Including, but not limited to clerical duties, such as payroll, cash management, accounts payable/receivable and supply inventory activities.
The Accounting Manager will also assist in month-end activities and perform special analysis as required by the clinic Controller and prepare schedules and charts reflecting financial data as needed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily transactions of accounts payable and receivable.
- Assist with annual finance and tax audits, payroll audits and month and year-end journal entries.
- Conduct bank reconciliations.
- Oversee cash management functions.
- Oversee bi-weekly payroll and PTO processing functions by conducting reconciliations with the general ledger system.
- Assist in the reporting of monthly PTO accruals; garnishing, recording weekly deposits; developing and maintaining desk procedures; ensuring that policies and procedures comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Assist with Budget compilations.
- Assist with the preparation of IHS, Grant, Medicare cost reports and indirect cost proposals.
- Review, process and analyze customer/patient invoices and statements.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of provider statements.
- Provide detailed updates on current/upcoming/in-process transfers.
- Assist in the creation, maintenance and implementation of financial policies.
- Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFIICATIONS
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field and at least 3 years of Accounting/Finance Management experience or 8 years of Accounting/Finance Management experience.
- Knowledge of payroll, account analysis, reconciliation and daily journal entries.
- Must be familiar with governmental accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
- Must be familiar with healthcare financial reporting, revenue cycle management, accounting, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, audit, tax and payroll.
- Must have strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Must be able to work well with others or alone, under minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong computer experience required. 10-key by touch. Typing ability of 50 wpm

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a health clinic setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Will work with blood-borne pathogens and will require OSHA training. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
