Pay: $27.5 - $30.25/hour with overtime (DOE)
This is direct hire.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, the Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support including overseeing import/export compliance activities with regulations CTPAT, ITAR and ACE.
Performance Requirements
- Support manager for overseeing import/export control for all branch offices in the company as well as group companies
- Work for C-TPAT , ITAR and ACE maintenance, compliance and revalidation
- Manage and perform Post Entry Audit and reporting
- Monitor the quality of work of customs brokers
- Work and coordinate with Japan and other offices for the compliance and implementation of procedures for the new CBP/US customs, ISF - importers security filing
- Ensure proper classification of products for import/export using the Schedule B and US HTS across a wide range of industrial and mechanical products
- Maintain HTS and Schedule B product code database
- Evaluate duty savings opportunities including duty drawback, Free Trade Agreements, and Foreign Trade Zones
- Ensure compliance manual and implement necessary process for the business area
- Ensure that export shipments are being screened properly against the Denied Parties Lists.
- Develop and provide training to branch offices to maintain updated awareness of import/export compliance requirements and changes.
- Maintain recordkeeping system of all Import/Export filings and ensure that required documents are complete, accurate and accessible for the recordkeeping periods according to the requirements of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, BIS – Department of Commerce and U.S. Census Bureau.
- Responsible for performing the physical counts for inventory at warehouse locations once a year
- Establish a relationship with insurance broker/carriers to obtain the most advantageous terms and conditions
- Arrange the proper coverage with evaluations and assessment of overall risk management (both Non marina and marine insurance)
- Create and provide required reports to insurance broker/company on monthly, quarterly and annually
- File and settle claims (both Non marine and marine) with insurance broker/carrier

- Working knowledge of compliance audit practices and process
- Working experience with US import/export processes and procedures including ISF filings
- Ability to lift 10 lbs. Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
