Pathlabs is seeking a highly experienced Group Account Director with a strong background in advertising or marketing, a passion for advertising technology, and exceptional leadership skills. The Group Account Director will play a crucial role in uncovering gaps within account services, strategy, process, workflow, and project management. Reporting directly to the VP of Media, the ideal candidate will collaborate closely to develop department processes and resources for the Media Delivery team. This role also entails supporting and developing Account Directors, ensuring the adoption of standardized processes, and elevating the group to profitability.
Responsibilities
- DO
- Identify gaps in account services, account and campaign strategy, process, workflow, and project management.
- Collaborate with the VP of Media to develop and implement department processes and resources for the Media Services team.
- Provide guidance and support to Account Directors in addressing identified gaps.
- Drive the adoption and standardized processes within the department.
- Work towards elevating the group’s performance and profitability.
- DISCUSS
- Evaluate resource and knowledge gaps related to people, products, and processes.
- Define resourcing needs for teams and assess if SLAs and SOPs are being effectively met.
- Continuously analyze and improve how partners are serviced to ensure optimal client satisfaction - Create Raving Fans.
- DECIDE
- Determine staffing requirements for the Account Services team
- Allocate accounts and resources strategically within the department
- Prioritize the development of resources and processes to optimize the team’s performance and profitability
- Assist in responding to and developing existing partners and new partner RFPs
- Provide mentorship to Account Directors within the Media Services Department.
- Responsible for training and onboarding new Account Directors.
- Support Account Directors in reaching growth goals identifying additional revenue through incremental funds and new advertiser proposals.
- Managing the staffing needs of your team, including hiring, discipline, and general personnel issues, with the VP of Media.
- Stay abreast of new solutions, technologies, and opportunities in the media space.
- Champion of cross-functional communication. Highly participative and engaged in inter-department conversations.
- Other duties as necessary to evolve this role
- Travel to the client when necessary.

Skills and Requirements
- Experience with digital advertising, advertising metrics, ad buying platforms, and DSPs
- Proven leadership experience of 5 years
- A proven track record of managing and growing client accounts efficiently and effectively - 5 years.
- Experience in customer-facing role - 7 years
- Ability to delegate duties, timelines, and follow-up to ensure projects are moving forward efficiently
- Experience working and managing a cross-functional team
- Ability to develop and iterate on company processes and a keen eye for scalable solutions
- Ability to tell stories with data
- Ability to have direct, honest conversations with employees and clients
- Superlative oral and written communication skills
- Comfortability in new business or business growth pitches
- Solid understanding of advertising principles and paid digital media strategies
- Familiarity with Google Campaign Manager or Sizmek
- 3 Years of experience buying through, managing, or analyzing performance-focused campaigns in DSP, Meta, and Google Ads.
- Experience with verification partners a plus (DV, IAS, MOAT)
- 3 Years of experience with Google Analytics
- 3 Years of experience putting together, analyzing, and delivering performance media reporting, including digital insight and client recommendations.
- Total comfort with basic financial and mathematical calculations.
- Total comfort with advanced functions in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
