What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Project Manager position at Pathlock, Inc.?

Responsibilities:


  • Independently lead and manage End-to-End Project Delivery from Initial Scoping and Discovery through to Post Go-Live.
  • Engage both technical and non-technical contacts at the customer to understand the business need behind projects and be able to articulate these internally to Senior Management. Can ask the question behind the question.
  • Ensure that the project aligns with the customer’s overall business strategy and needs.
  • Create a project plan and be able to adjust it quickly for any changes internally or at the client.
  • Manage the day-to-day deliverables in the project plan.
  • Be able to manage multiple projects in parallel that have high visibility both at the customer and internally.
  • Demonstrable experience to report on the project progress and roadblocks on short notice to management.
  • Develop a RACI matrix for each project, ensure that each team member understands their roles & responsibilities.
  • Execute and monitor the project – tracking Time, Budget, Scope.
  • Focus on completing projects on time and if they are at risk of slipping, quickly identify the delay and provide mitigations internally and to the client.
  • Independently assess when projects need to be escalated.
  • Can appropriately gauge the client temperature and decide when or if a project needs additional attention from Senior Management.
  • Use appropriate tools and methodologies to track and keep progress of all impactful events (RAID log, MOMs, Change requests etc.).
  • Maintain a project library (all project tracking tools plus all other project related technical and functional documentation).
  • Proactively identify and escalate blockers or bottlenecks before they are apparent to the client.
  • Act as Single Point of Contact to customer for all updates related to the project.
  • Maintain on-going communication with customer and internal teams to:

Minimize uncertainty.

Avoid “unplanned” obstacles.

Keep customer informed and involved.

Ensure good bi-directional information flows.

Escalate Right information to Right people at Right point in time.

Proactively seek and act upon customer feedback.

  • Publish regular update documentation in accordance with customer and internal Senior Management requirements (weekly updates, Steering Group Meeting updates, escalation reports etc.)
  • Independently exercise decision making authority, especially regarding the overall strategic value of the project when weighed against others.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the project management process within the organization.


Skills and Experience:


  • 6 Years of experience working in similar position or in a service-oriented company or IT division of a large company.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as project management, business administration, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as Project Manager or similar capacity working on lengthy and complex projects.
  • Extensive experience working with Senior Executives and stakeholders internally and at a customer.
  • The ability to quickly learn a new product, what it does, how it works, and the ability to articulate this to a client.
  • Proven mastery of Project Management techniques and methodologies.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, encourage cross functional co-operation and stick with issues/problems until an acceptable solution has been reached.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a dynamically changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, calm and confident approach to customer interactions; display of knowledge and conduct that motivates team members and reassures Project Steering Committees.


Nice to have but not required:


  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Experience mentoring and offering guidance to less experienced project managers.
  • Technical background (e.g. in ERP Systems, packaged software delivery, cross-platform integration etc.) an advantage.
  • Experience writing and editing Statements of Work (SOW).
  • Experience of working in Governance, Risk and Compliance (Audit, SOX Compliance, Security, PAM, UAR/UAM) an advantage.
