About the Role:
Accountable for driving the effective governance and management of financial risks in the first line of defense across Commercial Finance. Ensures the bank operates within its risk appetite and stays compliant with regulatory requirements of the OCC by providing specialist risk and control knowledge and promoting ongoing risk and control monitoring through quality control processes. Proactively strengthens risk frameworks, risk management, and risk governance to enable a safer bank; partners with Governance, Risk and Compliance to serve as trusted advisors and create a culture of continuous improvement and consistent risk management. Enables accountability of Risk and Control owners to positively impact the control environment; and improves the risk and control landscape through forward-looking expertise and knowledge of industry trends. Serves as an integral part of the division’s Credit Committees as well as a main contact with Commercial Finance’s relationship with the OCC.
What You Will Do:
- Develops, leads, and implements a first line control program for Commercial Finance.
- Oversees the division’s risk rating integrity including watch credit meetings, portfolio review meetings, substandard reporting, and administration of the Adverse Action Reporting requirement cycle.
- Serves as chair of the Commercial Finance Credit Working Group.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or equivalent education and work experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Typically 12 years relevant work experience in control function, operations, finance and accounting, banking compliance, credit, risk management, legal or other control-related function in the financial services industry.
- Proven track record of leading regulatory efforts.
- Experience in people management.
- Knowledge of Asset Based Lending required.
- Process design and analysis skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Can exercise independence of judgment and autonomy.
- Ability to see the big picture with excellent attention to critical details and possesses follow-up skills.
- High aptitude for proactive problem analysis and resolution.
- Ability to work in a matrixed environment and partner with virtual teams.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and must be able to multi-task and complete projects on time.
- Superior multi-tasking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, often deadline-oriented and dynamic environment.
- Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative, adaptive and organized.

Salary range: $145,796.47 – $240,564.18
The salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this role. Individual pay within the range will be determined by multiple factors which can include but are not limited to a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
