What are the responsibilities and job description for the Life Enrichment Aide position at Pathway to Living LLC?
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Assist residents with daily living activities in accordance with each specific resident’s assessment and care plan, including but not limited to:
o Assisting with bathing as needed.
o Assisting with dressing/undressing as necessary.
o Assisting with personal hygiene including shaving as needed.
2. Assist residents in preparing for activities and social programs (i.e., church services, parties, visitors, etc.)
3. Prepare residents for meals, including assisting residents into the dining room.
4. Assist in transporting residents to/from appointments, programing and social programs, while creating an enjoyable and satisfying experience.
5. Participate in the coordination, implementation and execution of daily activities and programs.
6. Accompany residents on outings, acting as a chaperone when assigned by manager.
7. Assist with the coordination of themed events and entertainment.
8. Tidy resident apartments, daily, according to the need of the individual resident:
o Dishes o Make/Strip Beds
o Trash Removal o Spot Cleaning
9. Weigh and measure residents as instructed.
10. Measure and record temperatures, pulse, and respirations (TPRs), as instructed.
11. Answer resident calls promptly and with care and interest in the resident’s needs.
12. Check each resident routinely to ensure that his/her personal care needs are being met in accordance with his/her wishes.
13. Ensure all planned programming and events are well communicated and promoted to the residents, families and other department staff.
14. Report all changes in the resident’s condition to the supervisor as soon as practical.
15. Report all accidents and incidents observed on the shift and complete required forms.
16. Participate in and receive the Wellness report upon reporting for duty to ensure excellent care and services are provided to each resident
17. Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative and descriptive manner.
18. Use only authorized abbreviations established by the company when recording information.
19. Document resident involvement in all programs offered.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
1. Must know each resident and their family members.
2. Engage residents and connect with them in a genuine, compassionate and memorable way.
3. Must maintain and encourage a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that promotes cooperation with co-workers, managers and others with whom contact is made.
4. Follow work assignments, and/or work schedules in completing and performing assigned tasks to provide meaningful experiences for residents and their family.
5. Comply with all rules and regulations regarding confidentially and privacy of team member and resident information.
6. Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as instructed by the supervisor.
7. Report all hazardous conditions and equipment to the proper manager immediately.
8. Cooperate with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other community personnel to ensure services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
9. Report all complaints and grievances made by the resident.
10. Attend and participate in scheduled training and educational classes to maintain current certification.
11. Attend and participate in scheduled orientation programs and events.
12. Engage in continuous learning and development opportunities through attendance and participation in in-service, educational seminars, staff meetings, annual OSHA and CDC in-service training programs for hazard communication, TB management, bloodborne pathogens standard, and advance directive in-service training programs as scheduled.
13. Must take ownership of requests, whether related to or outside of job functions, to ensure exceptional customer service.
14. Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.

8. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language at a level adequate to perform the job duties.

10. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with coworkers, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
11. Must be supportive of and encourage ideas, listen to other people’s opinions and consider their perspectives.
12. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
13. Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition to your supervisor.
