Position Description

The Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation is an independent, national 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to helping federally and commercially insured people living with life-threatening, chronic and rare diseases with the out-of-pocket costs for their prescribed medications. Partnering with generous donors, healthcare providers and pharmacies, PAN provides the underinsured population access to the treatments they need to best manage their conditions and improve their quality of life. Since its founding in 2004, PAN has provided 1 million underinsured patients with over $4 billion in financial assistance, through close to 70 disease-specific programs.

The Manager of Corporate and Foundation Giving is a key member of the Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation’s Development team. This position is responsible for growing philanthropic support for PAN, through the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of corporations, businesses, and grant-making foundations nationwide. The Manager of Corporate and Foundation Giving will provide leadership through engaging new partners, increasing both restricted and unrestricted, programmatic and impact funding as well as providing strategic input to leverage grant opportunities on a national and state level.  

The Manager of Corporate and Foundation Giving must be a results-oriented and collaborative member of the development team, with strong communication and networking skills as well as the ability to identify and develop new sources of funding. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Research, identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with corporations and foundations resulting in annual contributions, grants, program sponsorships, workplace giving and in-kind donations and/or other engagement activities. 
  • Manage existing portfolio of corporate and foundation donors and ensure gift renewal.  
  • Build and expand portfolio of corporations, foundations, and similar organizations to meet fundraising goals and support programmatic needs. 
  • Responsible for creating, writing, editing, and submitting high-quality materials and proposals to maintain and grow funding to support PAN’s programs and meet application and reporting deadlines.  
  • Collaborate with staff in developing annual revenue projections for corporations and foundations, and project budgets for proposals and grant requests.  
  • Ensures grant compliant with adherence to all stipulations and regulations related to successful grants, helping to interpret and prepare information for donors.  
  • Serve as main point of contact for corporation and foundation inquiries.  
  • Ensure proper administration and management of contracts, invoices, and receivables 
  • Maintain knowledge of corporate and foundation giving interest and trends; keep up to date with industry trends and developments.  
  • Attend events, potential partnership meetings, trainings, and conferences, as necessary and required. 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Development. 

Qualifications and Skills


  • Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree preferred.
  • At least three to five years of experience with grant writing, and foundation and corporate relations; preferably in the healthcare nonprofit space.
  • Be able to create successful fundraising cases for support of an organization that is going through a programmatic transformation.
  • Proven results in securing corporate and foundation support.
  • High level of professionalism; strong interpersonal skills and poise; excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • High-energy individual; an avid and effective networker with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships.
  • Exceptional analytical, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to excel in a small team setting.
  • Personal passion for helping to improve the health of underinsured patients by providing access to treatments they might not otherwise be able to afford.
  • Experience in Heath and/or Life Sciences a plus.
  • Travel (<~25%).
