What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equity Administrator position at Patreon?
Do you believe that creators should have the ability to get paid for the value they give to their fans?
We do, which is why we're building Patreon, a platform that powers membership services for creators with established followings. Patreon strives to provide creators with insight, education, and tools that make it possible to retain creative control while running their creative business, so creators can focus on creating and energizing their fanbases.
Our user base has doubled in the last year alone, and we have paid over $2 billion directly to creators on our platform. In order to support this level of growth, Patreon is looking for an Equity Administrator to join our team.
What you will do:
- Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, the Equity Administrator will serve as a key resource for building and maintaining equity best practices.
- Manage the end-to-end grant process, including coordination with human resources to prepare equity grants for approval.
- Provide a high level of customer service in responding to inquiries from investors and employees.
- Ensure that the structure of the stock plan and awards are appropriate for international jurisdictions through liaising with human resources and tax teams.
- Create robust documentation of processes and maintain comprehensive documentation for employee education purposes.
- Manage payroll-related and other reporting obligations relating to equity activity on a global basis.
- Maintain regular reporting to management to provide insight into share transfer activities and manage all proposed share transfers.
- Manage accounting for stock compensation and other equity related activities.
Skills and experience you possess:
- 5 years of relevant work experience, ideally with both private and public companies.
- Experience with stock options and restricted stock units.
- Experience working in Carta or other similar equity management software.
- Exposure to the accounting for equity compensation, including the preparation of reconciliations and journal entries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to effectively communicate across departments and at all levels.
- Familiarity with legal, tax and compliance concepts relevant to equity.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- CEP designation preferred.
Who You'll Work With:
At Patreon, you'll join a high-performing and highly-empathetic team of people who proudly work on fulfilling our mission of funding the creative class. Our culture of creator-first, thoughtful teammates keeps work creative, stretching, and rewarding.
Our Core Values:
- Put Creators First. WHEN CREATORS WIN, WE WIN.
