The Production Coordinator will balance inventory demand with production resources to create consistent work order flow and increase overall production efficiency.
The Production Coordinator’s responsibilities include working closely with the Operations Manager, Production Manager, and Shop Supervisors preparing routers, scheduling work orders, and collaborating with shop supervisors and other internal support teams to deliver on-time results while increasing capacity and efficiency.
This position will work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate is expected to collaborate effectively with other supervisors and managers within the organization. The successful candidate will set high standards of performance for themselves and others; be professional in written, verbal, and personal actions; seek new knowledge and experiences and have an analytical mindset to utilize factual data to develop creative and business-oriented solutions.
This role will report to the Operations Manager.
Detailed Description
- Identify QMS requirements, production capabilities, and outplant service requirements from past jobs, internal feedback, and manufacturing drawings.
- Maintain and enhance working relationships with all internal support teams
- Structure, compile and organize work order documentation for efficient filing
- Prepare work order routers by analyzing the scope of the project, historical data and subcontractor bids
- Engage in production oversight, inventory control activities related to work in process
- Monitor progress and performance of projects and communicate status throughout the organization and to management
- Follow up with supervisors to ensure products meet expectations prior to completion
- Assist in the development of lean manufacturing processes to enhance productivity
- Act as the point of contact for WIP generation and work order management
- Ensure processes, procedures and standards are met throughout the entire project
- Ensure policies and procedures are interpreted and applied consistently, ensuring accountability and compliance with company goals
Job Requirements
- Proven work experience in a production environment or similar role
- Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
- Advance computer skills, specifically using Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of oilfield terminology and parts related to top drives, catwalks, and make/break machines.
- Ability to understand manufacturing drawings and bill of material structure.
- Excellent ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Relevant industry experience with 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and inventory management.
- Familiar with manufacturing techniques of machining and fabrication specifically.
- Work experience with API Quality certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Education (Technical school or University).
- Relevant industry experience with ideally five years’ experience in a manufacturing & sales environment.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (purchasing/inventory management software)
- Knowledge of top drive recertification and repair processes
- Understanding of oilfield terminology and parts, specifically related to top drive, catwalks, make/break machines
- Experience with API 8C Certification
Additional Details:
This position requires the person to work in both an office and remanufacture warehouse facility environment. The position must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. Also, must be able to work closely with others and under deadlines including time-sensitive response situations and be willing to work extended schedules that will include working days, and occasionally nights, weekends, or holidays.
