About The Role:

Scrum Masters are expected to be responsible for facilitating and supporting Agile processes and practices, ensuring the team is fully functional, and promoting continuous improvement. The Scrum Master will work closely with the product owner, development team, and other stakeholders to drive project success and deliver high-quality products on time.

This role is ideally based out of our Kansas City WHQ; however, highly qualified remote candidates in AZ, AR, FL, GA, IA, IL, KS, MI, MO, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, and WI will also be considered.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Facilitate Scrum events (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective)
  • Coach the development team in self-organization and cross-functionality
  • Remove impediments and barriers that prevent the team from achieving its goals
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement within the team
  • Shield the team from external distractions and interference to maintain focus
  • Assist product owners and Engineering Managers in managing the product backlog and prioritizing user stories
  • Track and report on team progress, sprint velocity, and other relevant metrics
  • Identify and escalate risks and issues that may impact project timelines or quality
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters or Agile Coaches to share best practices and align methodologies across teams
  • Facilitate discussions and decision-making processes to resolve conflicts and promote consensus

What You'll Need To Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification preferred
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in software development projects
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and principles, particularly Scrum and Kanban
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Solid organizational and time-management abilities
  • Experience with Jira
  • Knowledge of software development practices and technologies
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
