What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contracts Paralegal position at Paymerang?

As a Contracts Paralegal at Paymerang, you will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and processing to execution agreements related to Paymerang’s core business. You will be the primary contact for tracking the completion of contractual documents and storing executed agreements in the applicable electronic repository/system and files. On a day-to-day basis, this position will work primarily under the direction of an attorney, the CFO, and other team members to meet client needs effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting and proofreading correspondence and confidential legal documents, including agreements, contracts, and preparing revisions as needed.
- Establish and maintain appropriate filing systems
- Tracking contract status and following up with key internal stakeholders.
- Drafting minor changes to standard contract language.
- Preparing contract amendments when needed
- Tracking contract expiration and renewals
- This position will also assist with compliance responsibilities including but not limited to helping the company to prepare for third party audits and insurance applications
- Assisting with other projects and duties as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.
- Three or more years of experience in contract generation or management at a law firm or in-house legal department is strongly preferred.
- Specific experience supporting attorneys with either a real estate or corporate practice is strongly preferred.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all information.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and the format of basic legal documents.
- A proactive work ethic, the ability to anticipate needs, strong decision-making skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in an active, sophisticated legal department.
- Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills along with the ability to work collaboratively as a team.
