Hub Facility Technicians provide hands-on maintenance and support to the warehouse operations including: executing the preventative maintenance program, completing equipment repairs and maintenance, supporting outside vendor repairs, assisting with operational projects, minor building repairs, and emergency response.
Job Description:
Specifically, the Facility Technician will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining warehouse automation equipment, including conveyor, powered industrial trucks, manual material handling equipment, and dock packages to support the production environment of our Hubs. The Facility Technician will also play supporting role with building systems as needed, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, signage, and exterior building structure. The Facilities Technician will oversee, identify, and onboard local third-party vendors as needed to support facilities work and installation projects. Additional responsibilities include setting up and repairing workstations and collaborating on infrastructure solutions.
Reporting to the Operations Facilities Manager, the Facilities Technician will:
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance requirements. Equipment and tools include conveyor systems, motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, coupling and motor alignment, and dock packages.
- Ensures all facilities are operated and maintained in alignment with established standards and procedures. Further develops standards and procedures as business and customer needs evolve.
- Contribute to a building that is presentable, clean, safe and an acceptable environment for occupants and visitors.
- Build a working understanding of day-to-day operations of the warehouse.
- Be capable of following diagrams, manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. Troubleshoots malfunctions and complies with regulatory standards on wiring.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; and using precision measuring tools.
- Diagnose, repair, and install electronic or electro-mechanical equipment such as circuit breakers, fuses, or proximity switches.
- Control downtime by informing operation and specialists of routine preventive maintenance.
- Collaborate with operations management to develop and implement maintenance plans and make suggestions to improve the plans in place.
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting actions, communicating irregularities, and scheduling correction of abnormalities.
- Work with third-party contractors/vendors engaged in operating and maintaining properties.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, including those from OSHA and PayPal.
- Contribute to an amazing work culture by integrating feedback and ideas from the specialist population. Our goal is to cement Happy Returns as a top workplace within the local regions.
Requirements & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with:
- Must hold a certificate or diploma in a related field
- Completion of an industrial maintenance apprenticeship program or technical licensure is a plus
- 3 years of related experience in facilities of similar size, complexity, and pace
- Thorough working knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance, its usage, and safety procedures, in particular material handling conveyor
- Experience diagnosing and repairing components in electrical control panels and reading and interpreting schematics is a plus
- Self-motivated, responsible, and safety-oriented individual.
- Learns and applies standard tools and techniques to solve problems.
- Demonstrates a positive “can-do” attitude and takes responsibility for self-performance
- Ability to manage time and responsibilities independently and excellent at following direction
- Must have a flexible schedule, available to work on call for occasional emergency situations
- Strong desire for continuous improvement as well as a lifelong learner mentality to adapt as our operation and its equipment evolves
- Must be able to walk, stand, climb, balance, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on a regular basis
- A long-term perspective on career development and desire to grow professionally
Actual Compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to work location, and relevant skills and experience.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $52800 to $136510
