The Manufacturing Engineer is a technical expert, applying their education, experience and expertise in the launch of new product designs into manufacturing, to drive process improvements and to solve manufacturing problems.
- Interprets complex mechanical drawings, schematics and technical specifications to evaluate product designs to develop manufacturing work instructions, processes, routers, procedures and test protocols.
- Develops prototype/pilot manufacturing builds to test and evaluate product and process designs and revisions.
- Works in close collaboration with other engineering teams, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales and Quality in the launch of new products and the manufacturing support and improvement of existing products.
- Develops and designs tools and fixtures, researches and specifies manufacturing machinery, equipment and systems.
- Creates and maintains accurate mechanical drawings, schematics, technical specifications and manufacturing process documentation.
- Provides documentation and training on assembly methods, test procedures and production equipment.
- Conducts failure analyses to resolve manufacturability or quality issues.
- Provides technical assistance in matters of applications, products, materials, equipment and processes.
- May travel up to 10% to visit customers, vendors, suppliers, other company locations, affiliates, attend technical meetings, trade shows or conferences.
- Performs other related tasks and duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years Manufacturing Engineering experience
