Main Job Responsibilities
- Provides and models excellent, professional customer service
- Assists in overseeing produce department operations
- Assists Produce Coordinator in writing orders and handling other produce department tasks
- Participates in department planning with Produce Coordinator in regards to budgeting, product mix, and scheduling
- Gains thorough knowledge of all produce items
- Provides direction, supervision, and mentorship to produce staff
- Builds and maintains produce displays and rotates produce in back stock and sales floor
- Receives produce orders, arranges credits from vendors and process invoices
- Updates price changes and signage
- Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
- Operates all equipment in accordance with PCC standards
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven ability to perform excellent, professional customer service
- Must have excellent leadership, organizational, multitasking and communication skills
- Must have demonstrated order writing skills
- Schedule writing experience preferred
- Available to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings and weekends
- Previous retail experience desired and background in produce preferred
- Use of basic knife skills required
- Must be able to meet physical demands including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion and lifting 10–40lbs regularly
- A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
- If hired into this role, a Certified Food Protection Manager certification (for example ServSafe) is required (paid for by PCC)
- If hired into this role, a CPR/First Aid Certification is required (paid for by PCC)
