JOB SUMMARY: The Technical Manager will provide a high level of technical and production support for the use of the Capri across a wide variety of events, presentations and productions. This position will help to develop and support strategies that contribute to the overall success of the Capri and its programs.
SCHEDULE: The schedule for this position requires flexibility between business hours and regularly includes evening and weekend hours.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide the highest standards of technical and production support to rental clients and PCYC programs through guidance and assistance on the use of Capri equipment or operation of Capri equipment.
- Coordinate with Capri staff to ensure all stakeholders using the facility are utilizing the venue and its amenities safely, and to its fullest potential.
- Safeguard PCYC’s investment in the Capri by working with Capri staff in maintaining, repairing and upgrading the sound, lighting, rigging, wood shop, and wardrobe areas.
- Assist with keeping the Capri facility and its grounds clean and well maintained.
- Advances career pathways in the Arts by working as a mentor and teacher in Capri youth arts programming and apprentice program.
- Cultivate clients and support growth of earned and contributed income through positive interaction with clients and public advocacy for the Capri.
- Assist Audience Services Manager in front of house processes as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s Degree.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in events and working with theater technical systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn lighting, sound, motorized rigging, drafting and maintenance systems.
Must have completed COVID-19 vaccination and/or will have completed the vaccine before starting; can start after receiving first dose if proof provided of appointment for second dose. After 5 months has passed since an employee received their second dose of a two-shot series, (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines), or two months after the J&J/Janssen vaccine employees are required to provide an updated version of their vaccination card or vaccine record with a booster included. Employees have 30 days following their respective 5-month or two-month mark to provide the updated vaccine record, depending on which type of vaccination was originally received.
