Position Summary:
The Bookkeeper is an entry-level and growth-focused role. This role is responsible for recording and maintaining the company’s daily financial transactions. He or she will prepare reports for the management team and reconcile account balances to assist the external accountants, as well as processing payroll, entry of vendor invoices, and invoice payments. With support from external accountants, the Bookkeeper will prepare monthly financials statements for management. This role requires a highly organized and focused individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to execute diligently and meticulously.
Specific Duties:
Accounts Payable
- Code and enter vendor payables
- Manage outstanding payable list and recommend weekly payments to management
- Process payables weekly and remit to vendors to ensure timely payment
Accounts Receivable
- Generate customer invoices as product is shipped
- Follow-up on outstanding customer receivables
- Apply customer payments against outstanding receivables
- Scan deposits to the bank and post them timely
Payroll
- Review weekly payroll hours from time clock for reasonableness
- Ensure payroll is approved by management weekly
- Process payroll weekly through ADP third party payroll system
General Ledger
- Prepare bank reconciliation monthly and monitor bank account during the week
- Assist external accountants with account reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Run financial reports for management upon request
Experience:
- Experience with and knowledge of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll Processing, and general ledger management.
- Experience in working with different levels of management, employees, suppliers and customers.
- Experience and skill in ERP system is preferred. Knowledge of E2 a plus.
- Experience in sheet metal manufacturing a plus.
Skills/Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting/finance or a related field of study, or relevant work experience.
- Thoughtful, customer-service oriented communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of AR, billing/collections and/or AP.
- Familiarity with electronic bookkeeping, invoice submission and invoice appeals.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and work independently.
- Must have strong computer skills including Excel and Word.
- Must have clean driver’s license and reliable transportation. (Facility is located within walking distance of Shrewsbury Park & Ride.)
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary commensurate with experience.

- Hours are 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. (Can be flexible if needed)
