What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Start Site Supervisor position at PEACE, Inc.?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field, with a plan of study leading to a Bachelor's Degree.
- Two years of full-time child day care teaching experience.
- Two years of experience supervising staff
- A valid NYS driver license.
- Knowledge of programming for 3 and 4-year-old children.
- Ability to interact with families and all levels of staff in order to manage a quality program.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinate and facilitate the daily operations of a Head Start site with four preschool classrooms, ensuring that all staff conduct themselves in a professional manner consistent with the agency policy, state regulations and federal performance standards.
2. Provide on-site supervision of all site staff, including monitoring of time and attendance.
3. Meet with program coordinators as needed to maintain quality services specific to each program component.
4. Provide technical assistance to classroom staff: make classroom observations, hold classroom team conferences and planning sessions, review weekly classroom plans, and provide available resource materials.
5. Assist the social services and parent involvement staff with the development of parent activities throughout the year.
6. Directly supervise bus drivers assigned to the site, and assist with the planning, development and altering of bus routes throughout the year.
7. Work with the Facilities Manager, Maintenance Coordinator and Health Coordinator following designated procedures to ensure the center provides a safe, healthy and risk-free environment for children, staff and parents.
8. Be familiar with the New York State Office of Child and Family Services Day Care Regulations (part 418) and be able to provide the necessary documentation to the NYSOCFS for the renewal of the day care license.
9. Complete all required documentation, including annual evaluations of center staff in collaboration with the component coordinator.
10. Monitor the inventory of the center, keep an ongoing record of consumable supplies and submit orders when necessary.
11. Conduct regularly scheduled monthly meetings for all site staff.
