PeaceHealth is seeking a Program Manager Career Development and Retention for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position.

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including 2 doses of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of a 1-dose series plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to start date.

JOB SUMMARY

Provides daily management of recognition, workforce, and career development programs in collaboration with nursing leadership and other internal and external stakeholders across the Oregon network. Participates on teams and partners on development of standardized workforce development approaches, locally and at the system level. Provides community outreach to promote college and high school level recruitment. Conducts gap analyses and creates a plan to address strategically important gaps, including continued monitoring for desired outcomes. Promotes recognition through the oversight of multiple recognition programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Organizes programs and activities aligned to PeaceHealth mission, values, and goals.
  2. Develops, leads, and manages multi-stakeholder workforce and career development and recognition programs and projects to successful completion.
  3. Manage and monitors project day-to-day efforts and outcomes to achieve PeaceHealth strategies and desired process driven outcomes.
  4. Identifies key gaps in the current workforce development approaches and identifies solutions to mitigate and/or eliminate them.
  5. Serves as a member of the nursing leadership team and engages in proactive, data driven actions design to stabilize and build the nursing workforce.
  6. Collaborates with local, network and system functions including Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Quality, Performance Improvement, Professional Development, nursing leadership, and others as necessary on workforce and career development and recognition objectives.
  7. Builds effective relationships and collaborates with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate PeaceHealth efforts, including nursing and allied health pipeline programs.
  8. Advises internal stakeholders related to changes in external stakeholder landscape, such as leadership changes or academic program availability and supports.
  9. Establishes methods to support nurses with career planning and progression, including internal mentor and succession programs.
  10. Establishes processes to ensure caregivers and departments are nominated for internal and external nursing awards and recognitions.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • BSN required
  • Master’s degree in related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • A minimum of five years of experience as an RN required.
  • Experience in effective program management, having been a strong member of program management team(s).
  • Experience as a nurse manager, asst nurse manager or charge nurse/team lead experience preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at date of hire.
  • Nursing Professional Certification preferred.

  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects through all phases from assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up in a matrixed organization.

  • Ability to receive and provide feedback.
  • Skills and abilities to perform as an organized, self-starter, and able to handle expeditiously, accurately, and confidentially the rapid receipt of communications from all sources—written, email, voice mail, one-on-one with attention to detail; able to act on own initiative while exercising reasonable judgment.
  • Ability to create budgets and analyze program costs and revenue projections from grants and other sources.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work through processes, identify and implement process improvements, and resolve complex situations.
  • Familiar with program design, development and evaluation processes.
  • Exceptional people skills, able to communicate, build rapport, and work with staff, volunteers, clients, and corporate sponsors from a variety of backgrounds, ethnicities, beliefs, gender identities, body shapes, education, economic disparities, and life challenges.
  • Ability to balance competing job requirements effectively manage time, resources, and competing deadlines to meet program needs and requirements; and ability to read, analyze and interpret information.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications.
