JOB ANNOUNCEMENT – Childcare Center Director - Expanding Company with Multiple Locations in Oconee, Athens and Atlanta Area
General Responsibilities
The responsibility of the Center Director will include overseeing the daily operation of the school. This position plans, develops, organizes, and maintains the school`s programs for students, parents, and staff that support Peach State Academy. The Center Director must be familiar with and stay current on state childcare regulations, local and federal regulatory agencies, and always maintain compliance with them. Record keeping that pertains to the administration of the center in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws is a key of the Center Director. The Center Director will supervise the staff`s performance and appearance and conduct required performance evaluations. The Center Director will supervise or delegate the supervision of Peach State Academy Curriculum and weekly lesson plan implementation. Ultimately, the Center Director will provide necessary support for the owner, parents, and staff.
The Center Director effectively operates and manages all aspects of the center including business management, education and professional development, school environment, and marketing and communications. Oversees and ensures consistent implementation of the Curriculum for all children in the program. The Center Director consistently supports teachers and other staff of the center and develops and maintains positive staff and parent relationships and manages all resources effectively. Establishes and maintains respectful and positive working relationships with state licensing personnel.
A candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and have a good understanding of age-appropriate activities for young children.
· Oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations including human resources, quality assurance, and facility operations and licensing standards
· Develop strong relationships with our families
· Maintain budget needs and responsibilities
· Maintain and promote a positive and upbeat environment
· Maintain high level of organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
· Oversee and manage employee schedules and payroll
· Oversee and maintain transportation documentation and information
· Interview and hire staff
· Oversee child and family accounting and information using Procare Software
· Serve as Pre-K project director or site director /when applicable
· Oversee Food and Nutrition
· Schedule special events, activities, and extra-curricular programs
· Maintain website, if necessary
· Oversee summer program and activities planning
· Maintain child and staff records/files
· Schedule, manage and oversee staff training and professional development
Education, Skills, and Required Work Experience
- Minimum of Associates Degree in ECE/Child Development and five years direct experience working with children birth to five years of age, or bachelor’s degree in ECE/Child Development and three years direct experience working with children birth to five years of age. Bachelors preferred.
- Minimum of five years direct experience in childcare leadership role. Five or more years’ experience as a Center Director of a licensed childcare program preferred.
- Meet the minimum requirements set by the state childcare regulatory agency for the position of Center Director
- State 40-hour Director Training
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Clearance as required by the state
- Demonstrate the following qualities: self-motivation, self-direction, ability to make good judgments, creativity, reliability, and dependability
- Can lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Demonstrate the ability to handle crisis situations, especially where children are involved and to respond immediately to any emergency
- Be willing to participate in continuing education as required by the childcare regulatory agency
- Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid Training
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
