ABOUT THE POSITION: Our growing company is looking for a full-time Retail Purchasing Agent, which consists of purchasing inventory from suppliers/stores based on our company’s discretion and evaluating items based on the given criteria within the data charts. Purchasing Agents are responsible for keeping a purchase ledger, receipts, and item costs. You’ll be on your feet around 6-7 hours per day with the remaining time driving around Kansas City or surrounding areas in one of our company vehicles.

This is an entry-level position at $15.50-$17.50 per hour with bonuses.

**This position is perfect for retail or food service employees that enjoy the charm of the retail environment, but with less customer interaction.

We provide video training and onsite training to ensure your success in the position. Job hours are 40/hours per week, Monday to Friday, with 1-2 weekends required per month. You will work closely with the Purchasing Manager, who will supervise your training and purchasing.

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Must wear nice casual attire
• Prior Service/Military is Highly Desirable
• Clean driving record
• Detail-oriented and excellent organization skills
• Strong math skills
• Able to learn quickly; excellent memory recall.
• Analytical skills are required to identify, evaluate, and troubleshoot potential problems. Must be able to make sound decisions quickly.
• Required to have a background check
• Be able to work diligently unsupervised.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Able to learn quickly; excellent memory recall.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Basic knowledge of technology; knowledge of Mac OS and Google Sheets is a plus
• Ability to travel on a rotational basis after initial training usually 4 days during week but may be subject to change due to scheduling

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Purchasing inventory from suppliers/stores (determined at company discretion) and evaluating items based on very particular criteria
• Responsible for keeping a purchase ledger, receipts, and item costs
• Building relationships with store/company management team
• Maintain records of inventory in software and keep inventory current
• Able to calculate percentages to stack coupons and sales
• Light cleaning
• Help prepare and package items for shipment, as needed
• Will assist with other tasks, as assigned.

The employee must sometimes lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
