What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chiropractic Assistant / Medical Receptionist position at Pearson Chiropractic PLLCC?
We are in need of an experienced medical receptionist/chiropractic assistant for the front desk of our very busy chiropractic clinic. The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service skills, possess an eagerness to learn, be a team player and have ability to multi-task. We have a fantastic team, and are looking for the right person to add as we continue to grow!
Primary Responsibilities:
• Providing exceptional customer service by scheduling patients via phone and in person, taking payments, and answering general questions about their accounts.
• Researching medical claims, insurance information and obtaining status updates on accounts by telephone to patients, insurance companies and attorneys as needed.
• Documenting details in our computer system (Practice Studio).
• Review patient accounts for accuracy.
• Compliance with all protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with HIPAA.
• Professionally answering calls on multi-line phone system.
• Verifying and inputting patient insurance benefits.
• Scheduling future visits.
• Great attention to detail and data inputting accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Proficient oral and written communication in English.
• Proven reliability - excellent attendance and punctuality records.
• Basic computer skills – working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Internet Explorer.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone in a professional manner.
• Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
• Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.
• Ability to type 35 WPM with 10-key proficiency.
• Able to meet multiple deadlines consistently, meeting or exceeding defined productivity standards.
• Must be a team player and possess a positive attitude and demonstrate eagerness to learn.
• Reliable transportation.
Experience:
• High School completion or equivalent.
• 2 years of Customer Service - Medical billing preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT and ICD-10 coding preferred but not required.
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Compensation: Starting at $20/hour depending on experience
